Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack will probably sound like heresy to the average Minecraft player. Round objects?! In Minecraft?! Could it possibly be true? It might sound impossible, but this pack for the new 1.16 snapshot turns the classically blocky trees into the realistic round variety.
What is Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack?
Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack is a resource pack that turns Minecraft’s classic blocky trees into something much more realistic. By using a neat 3D block model, Round Trees makes a very big impact despite only introducing a single change.
If you’re reading this around the release of the Minecraft 1.16 snapshot, then you’re probably self isolating like me, and the rest of the Minecraft community. It’s important that we stay inside when we can, but beating away those quarantine blues can be super boring. Thankfully, with the new snapshot, and packs like Round Trees we can keep ourselves entertained for hours on end!
Minecraft 1.17 has officially been released. The 1.17 versions of the Minecraft resource packs, texture packs, shaders, mods, and Optifine can now be downloaded. We suggest you download the most up to date resource packs for the best experience.
Is Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack fun to play with?
Of course! Although the pack isn’t the most complex resource pack out there, but Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack leaves such a massive impact on the classic Minecraft experience. It’s actually a surprisingly familiar look for Minecraft to sport.
If you’re old enough to remember the deluge of Minecraft clones and rip-offs after the years of Minecraft’s initial success, then you’ll be familiar with the voxel-based art style that this pack seems to adopt.
The new log texture is very nice looking and it's honestly a great improvement over Minecraft’s regular trees. It’s very reminiscent of indie games which really ties in nicely with Minecraft’s humble roots. If you’re a fan of detail packs such as Minecraft3D, then this pack would fit right into your Minecraft resource pack library.
The effect overall is very impressive and I was pleasantly surprised at how much the game’s visuals improved with such a simple and lightweight resource pack installed. The only downside to the pack seems to be with clipping. The 3D model is a little bit larger than the standard log models, so its not uncommon to see the 3D log going through nearby blocks. Likewise, if you’re really into building with logs, you might find that some of your builds look slightly different with this pack installed.
So that’s it! Round Trees 1.16 - Minecraft Texture Pack is an awesome pack that is sure to help you get through self-isolation. Let me know what you thought of Round Trees down below!
