Due to their feisty nature and skills in fighting, Minecraft wolves make great guard dogs and a practical way to defend yourself on late night excursions into the wilderness. Tamed wolves will hunt certain passive mobs like sheep on their own, but they’ll also attack neutral mobs you attack, and will also attack aggressive mobs like skeletons and zombies.
It’s best to have a couple of tamed wolves with you at once, this way, damage will be spread more evenly and you won’t suffer any unwanted casualties after a brawl.
