When players got the news that Technoblade dead from cancer, plenty of them burst in tears that their local hero was not able to beat the dreaded disease.
He was only 23 on his death. The same age that Technoblade was diagnosed with cancer.
His father read aloud the message in a YouTube video Thursday titled "so long nerds" that has reached millions of people and hit #1 on the trending page.

Reaching millions in more ways than one
Amassing over 11 million YouTube followers and nearly 4 million Twitter followers, Technoblade garnered a wide community of people who enjoyed his humor, kindness and Minecraft video game playthroughs.
"He was the most amazing kid anyone could ever ask for," his father said in the video with tears filled in his eyes.
In part of his message, Technoblade thanked those who bought his merchandise and channel memberships and explained that now his siblings could go to college if they wanted to.
"From Technoblade's earliest online days, he was always strategizing ways to delight and reward his audience – giving away online prizes, encouraging good sportsmanship, and most of all sharing his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughs," a statement from his family read at the end of the video.
Minecraft, a 3D computer game where users can build their own structures, is one of the world's most popular video games.
Who was Technoblade
Alexander, known online as Technoblade, was an American YouTuber and internet personality known for his Minecraft videos and livestreams on his YouTube channel, as well as his involvement in the Dream SMP.
He is labelled by many as the best Minecraft PvP player of all time. He is also considered as one of the few Minecraft celebrities' who made millions through the game which was rare given there was no e-sports with Minecraft before the MCC.
As of July 2022, Technoblade's YouTube channel has more than 14 million subscribers. He died in June 2022 of metastasized cancer.
Technoblade became a member of the Dream SMP Minecraft server in 2020, which he began frequently creating content on. In association with the server, Technoblade had a friendly rivalry with fellow Minecraft YouTuber Dream.
They contested recognition for the title of "the best Minecraft player" across their fanbases via a series of player versus player duels organized by fellow YouTuber MrBeast, which Technoblade won. Around the time of his death in June 2022, Technoblade had reached 10.8 million subscribers.
In September 2021, Technoblade raised over $300,000 for the Sarcoma Foundation of America through a charity livestream, passing the $250,000 goal within 2 hours.
Tribute to Technoblade
Plenty of Minecraft players and gamers alive have paid tribute to Technoblade however one of the most amazing tribute was Mojang actually added an Easter egg for one of the players who made Minecraft even more famous.
Following his death, Youtubers Techno has collaborated with, his fans, his community, and even Mojang shared their condolences. Mojang, Minecraft’s developers, left an easter egg honoring Technoblade’s legacy over the years.
The above image is what the MC Launcher looked like. The image below shows the easter egg Mojang added to the launcher art. If you can’t spot the difference, Mojang added a crown to the pig commonly found in the MC Launcher as it directly nods to Techno’s Minecraft skin.
Techno’s Community praised Mojang’s tribute as it serves to commemorate Technoblade’s contribution to the Minecraft community. His unfailing humor brought joy to the community and to the rest of the world who enjoyed his content.
