JonesyCraft Resource Pack 1.15 is a resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 that is highly unique in its art style and approach to resource pack design. Creating entirely by the eponymous Jonesy, this pack is instantly recognizable by its distinct textures and colour pallete, creating a very memorable Minecraft experience. Sound interesting? Keep reading my rundown and review of this unique pack to find out more!

What is JonesyCraft Resource Pack 1.15?

JonesyCraft Resource Pack 1.15 is a fairly faithful, standard resolution resource pack that creates an incredibly unique visual experience to Minecraft. And though the pack doesn’t stray very far from the original ideas presented in by Minecraft’s default textures, it still manages to put across a style all of its own. Unfortunately though, parts of this art style are hit and miss, and the pack suffers in certain areas that ultimately damper the overall experience.

JonesyCraft Resource Pack 1.15 is a pack that is chocked full of charm. Everywhere you look with this pack you can see the effort poured into each texture by the creator. With that said, it pains me to say that some of the textures really weren’t my cup of tea.

I love a good faithful resource pack, or just a pack that keeps things simple. I can see this ethos running as an undercurrent in the creation of this pack, but something just doesn’t click for me. Generally speaking, common blocks such as dirt blocks have been changed fairly significantly, with the latter example having a much more saturated, red-tinged colour. This wouldn’t be a negative in of itself, but the combination of other design choices leave the pack straining on the eyes. The same can be said of log blocks, which now have several vertical lines running down them to simulate wood grain. Though, the final result looks more like pinstripe and just left me with a bit of a headache in more heavily wooded areas.

But I don’t want to moan too much. I actually loved the design for stone blocks such as stone bricks and their carved variants. These textures were well composed and coloured, leaving my eyes satisfied and strain-free. If more of the pack could follow in the footsteps of these effective designs, this pack would transform into something really excellent.

So that’s it! JonesyCraft Resource Pack 1.15 is certainly an acquired taste, but that’s the beauty of having so many resource packs at your fingertips. What did you think of the pack? Let us know in the comments! And while you’re there, leave a comment saying what packs we should cover next.
