Mod maps are always fun, so yes! Voxelmap is actually a long-running Minecraft mod, and it’s gained a name for itself due in part to its high quality and useful nature. Let’s be honest: the Minecraft map item kinda sucks. It’s no wonder that the community took it upon itself to create a stylish, easy-to-use and practical map to replace the vanilla game’s unsatisfactory version.

Basically, this pack gives you both a mini and full screen minimap to do whatever you want with. You can use it to mark places in your town, remember important or useful locations, or even just to admire your own awesome building skills. We’ve all wanted to just see the world from a bird’s eye view, and now we can!

Using the map is super easy. The minimap sits in the corner of the screen at all times, giving you an instant look at your surroundings, and can easily switch between view distances with a quick key press. You can also instantly lay down markers that offer name and icon customization, allowing you to really get into some detailed cartography.

The only real downside I can think of when it comes to this mod is the fact that it requires Fabric to use. For those of you who don’t know, Fabric is a modloader similar to Forge. And while Forge is the most popular of mod loaders, there are still many mods made for other varieties. The installation isn’t difficult by any means, but it’s definitely something to consider before you load this baby up.

How to install VoxelMap 1.16 Minecraft Mod

Want to install VoxelMap but are too scared to try out installing mods for the first time? Don’t worry, you’ve got this! Just follow my simple guide down below and you’ll be map making in no time! You’ll even be able to use the same process to install loads of other mods.

This particular mod requires the Fabric mod loader to work. If you don’t have Fabric, download the 1.16 version of the installer and follow the prompts, it should do all the hard work for you. If you’re installing Fabric for the first time, also make sure to launch Minecraft with Fabric at least once.

Download VoxelMap and extract the jar file from the zip folder. Now go to your ‘mods’ folder, which can be found through the following file directories:

Place the jar file into the ‘mods’ folder. Lastly, boot up Minecraft with the Fabric profile, using the Minecraft Launcher. This will complete the installation.
