The Cemetary – Minecraft Horror Map

The Cemetary – Minecraft Horror Map is a story focused spooky horror map with a mystery surrounding the story. You have to explore your way through the cemetery to find out exactly what has happened.

The Cemetery is fun to play, and whilst it is very story focused, the overall play time is only around 10 minutes, so it can be played even when you have just a small amount of time to play Minecraft. Let’s take a look at what makes The Cemetary a good map and how you can download it to try yourself.

The Cemetary – Minecraft Horror Map is actually the first map by this creator, but you wouldn’t know it. This map is well designed with some good story moments. You wake up in this game with somebody knocking at the door. Then, you go upstairs to look for your keys to open the door, and something knocks you out. You wake up and have no idea what has happened.

You must then explore the map and find out what knocked on your door and try to make your way back home. The Cemetary throws in some great jump scares along the way and a few adventure moments and puzzles.

If you don’t get lost along the way, you should be able to complete the Cemetary in about 10 minutes. There are some confusing moments that may get you stuck, for example, when you first wake up you have to find a door key and it’s hidden in a chest that was quite hard to spot at first.

There are also some unneeded parts that make the story a little longer, just for the sake of it. For example, when somebody knocks on the door at the very beginning, you have to go searching for your keys in your home but it’d be nice if you could just open the door and have it skip to the fun part straight away.

There isn’t much help for when you do get stuck, either, and the text can be quite vague in terms of what you actually need to do. There is a lot of narrative text from the perspective of your character, but you never really get a full list of tasks to follow. In other maps I’ve played that have this feature, I find it much easier and more enjoyable when you do have a task list to follow.

Besides that, though, The Cemetary is a fun map and it’s very easy to download and play. If you’d like to see how we have rated this map, you can see our pros and cons for it below. Otherwise, you can skip over that and learn how you can download and play the map for yourself.

Pros

  • Fun adventure focused horror map
  • Lots of story elements
  • Good length

Cons

  • Quite confusing at times
  • Unneeded tasks that drag out some parts
  • No real help when you get stuck

How do I install Minecraft Horror Maps

Download the map file and, using a file extractor, export the contents of the file to a location on your computer. When that’s finished, locate the directory where your Minecraft saves are kept. This will be different depending on the operating system of your computer. If you’re not sure where to look, use the table below:

OS Location
Windows %APPDATA%\.minecraft
macOS ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux ~/.minecraft

Just place the Spooner Street folder into your saves folder and just select the save from your Minecraft single player saves list.

The same process applies for multiplayer too, but the location of your saves folder is always different depending on what client or server software you use.
