Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 is a vanilla pack for Minecraft 1.15 that adds an awesome visual detail to Minecraft: durability! Experience your tools degrading in front of your very eyes! No longer do you need to rely on the small degradation bar at the bottom of the screen, now you can simply look at the item you’re holding to get an indication of how your faithful tool is fairing. Keep reading to find out if this neat resource pack will give you the detail fix you need.

What is Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15?

Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 is a resource pack with the simple goal to represent item degradation in-game rather than simply on the hot bar. Now items will change texture depending on how much use they have left and at what level of quality they are at. Moving the remaining usage of items from the user interface and into the actual game is a fantastic move that is not only useful, but immersive as well.

What is Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 like to play with?

Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 is admittedly a pretty small resource pack and I would certainly recommend stacking it up with some other smaller packs for a more impactful experience. However, don’t let me sound like I’m being negative about Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15, because I’m definitely not. This pack adds a fantastic little detail to the world of Minecraft. I don’t know why it’s never occured to me that items don’t degrade on screen as you use them but after this pack I don’t think I’ll ever be the same again. Seeing your pick, axe or sword crumble in front of your eyes is a fantastic way to keep the player in the know and allowing them to focus on what’s happening in-game rather than just on the user interface.

Although it’s a small detail change, the creator has gone to the trouble of adding durability textures to all applicable items that degrade, allowing for a fully cohesive resource pack experience. Again, this might all seem trivial on paper, but after playing Minecraft without Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 installed, I felt the game was missing a key mechanic!

Perfect for vanilla players as well as those who love to make Minecraft into a totally different game. Striker’s Visual Durability 1.15 offers a feature that is incredibly inventive, immersive and useful to boot. I highly recommend you all try it. And once you try it, why not tell us your thoughts in the comments below? You can also tell us your favourite packs so I know what to cover next time.
