What is Stay True Faithful 16x 1.16 Texture Pack?

Stay True is a resource pack styled with a faithful approach to resource pack design. While the pack stays very true to the classic look of Minecraft, it still adds an incredible amount of new detail and variation that will surely satisfy even the most hardened of Minecraft veterans.

Is Stay True Faithful 16x 1.16 Texture Pack a good pack?

I’ve got to say: I love to Stay True. This pack really encapsulates what makes a truly great faithful pack. Instead of changing only a handful of textures and GUI elements, this pack adds a minecart load of interesting and visually unique textures for an incredibly increased sense of variety.

One of my favorite aspects of this pack is the new biome leaf styling. You’ve got beautiful brown autumn leaves as well as bright pink cherry blossoms. These are great visual changes that don’t affect the game’s performance in any way. Normally 

At first glance, you might not be able to spot many of the pack’s changes, however, on further inspection you’ll discover that the pack is full of unique and interesting quirks.

That said, to access most of these new and interesting textures you’ll need to have OptiFine installed. This isn’t particularly a big downside since we always recommend every player to use OptiFine, but it does mean that it requires an extra installation to really experience the pack fully. For example, the pack makes heavy use of OptiFine’s connected textures feature, which will leave many of the pack’s more impressive visual effects missing if you don’t install OptiFine.

The pack’s new textures even include all of the content for Minecraft’s upcoming Nether update, and the new spooky Nether biomes look fantastic with the pack’s extra attention to detail. But this detail doesn’t stop there. In pretty much every corner of the Minecraft world, your eyes will be treated to a lot of care and attention towards how the world looks visually. One example is shown through the pack’s more palatable variations of snow and rain that make playtime during different types of weather.

I would highly recommend this pack to pretty much any and all Minecraft players, especially those who love Minecraft’s classic look. It’ll make a great companion for most adventure maps, mods, and servers!

How to install Stay True Faithful 16x 1.16 Texture Pack

To begin, download Stay True. This will come in the form of a zip file, and you’ll need to store it in a place you can access it. Once that’s finished, make your way to Minecraft’s resource pack folder kept inside the game’s files. You can do this easily by navigating to Minecraft’s options menu and clicking on ‘resource packs’ and then ‘open resource packs’. Alternatively, you access the folder at any time by using one of the following file directories:

Finally, once the zip file is inside the resource pack folder, make sure that you activate Stay True through the game’s resource pack menu.
