Ever thought to yourself: I wish I could turn all my villagers into skeletons? Well, me neither. But someone clearly has! Despite it’s kooky nature, this is a funny little pack that is sure to bring a smile to your skeletal face (can skeletons smile?). What is Spooky Skelly Villager Pack 1.15?

Spooky Skelly Villager Pack 1.15 is a pack with the goal of changing of all the game’s villagers into skeletons. And I can confirm that it manages to do just that! With this pack enabled, all villagers within the game will become strange big-nosed skeleton villagers. It’s truly a sight to behold.

What is Spooky Skelly Villager Pack 1.15 like to play with?

Spooky Skelly Villager Pack 1.15 isn’t the biggest resource pack you can try out, by any means. Ultimately, the pack only offers one major change, which I’ve covered pretty extensively already. By swapping the usual villager texture for a skeleton one, the pack creates a very funny final result.

The texture itself is very well made. I appreciate that the creator will have had to create a skeleton texture that fits the, shall we say unique, proportions of the game’s villagers. I particularly enjoy how the creator didn’t deviate from the base game’s original skeleton designs, despite the need for a custom built texture. The result is very organic and honestly feels like it could be content stripped from the vanilla game, so kudos for that.

Another detail I enjoyed was the new skeletal villager nose. As we all know, villagers are known for their distinctive nose attributes, which obviously poses a problem when turning them into skeletons. And although skeletons aren’t known for having noses, let alone large ones, these ones do! The result, although not particularly anatomically accurate, is very funny. The creator’s choice to colour the nose so that it matches the rest of the skeleton texture is genius and makes the pack a worthy resource pack to try out.

Unfortunately, since Spooky Skelly Villager Pack 1.15 is only a resource pack, there’s no changes to how villagers work. It would be cool if as a data pack or mod that the pack could introduce skeleton villagers as totally separate entities with their own unique qualities, such as dropping bones or selling unique items that villagers don’t typically sell to the player. Maybe for the future!
