Sometimes simple is better, right? Well, that adage can certainly be applied to one particular resource pack that I’m covering today. If you’re tired of flash visuals and over-complicated textures, then boy do I have the resource pack for you. If you’re hankering for a sense of simplicity, then keep reading to hear more about the uncomplicated Simplecraft!

What is Simplecraft 1.16 Texture Pack for Minecraft?

So, what is Simplecraft? Well, unlike many faithful resource packs, this particular pack goes a couple steps further to really simplify Minecraft’s set of game textures. Faithful packs are a great way to expand on your Minecraft’s visual style without cutting out too much of that classic Minecraft charm.

And just like all types of resource packs, there are plenty available that belong to the faithful variety, meaning that it’s difficult to stand out among the crowd. Simplecraft is different, though. By keeping simplicity at the forefront of the pack’s design approach, the author has managed to offer the community something unique in the sea of copycats and derivative knock-offs.

Is Simplecraft 1.16 Texture Pack for Minecraft a good pack?

Yes! Simplecraft 1.16  manages to bring something to the table that I don’t see in my many reviews of faithful packs: a unique style.

Unfortunately, many faithful packs can begin to blend together in your memory. I mean, how easy is it to remember 50 different versions of Minecraft’s textures but with different colored beds? But that’s beside the point, as Simplecraft 1.16 is able to inject some actual personality into a faithful pack.

This personality is primarily achieved through the pack’s unique style. A lot of the pack’s style reminds me of old retro video games. There’s something nostalgic being tapped into in the pack’s many retextures, which gives the pack a unique characteristic among its many contemporaries.

The obvious downside to this is that parts of the pack come across as overly simple. Wheat, for example, has a very simple texture that only makes use of two different colors. Textures like these are extreme examples of the video game vibe I was talking about previously, and honestly could be a positive or negative depending on which way you lean.

Obviously, if you’re big into high-resolution packs or packs with a lot of detail, there isn’t going to be too much here for you to grab onto. That said, if you’re like me and enjoy the simple pleasures, this pack is a guaranteed way to add a nice little twist to the way you experience the game.

What’s great about Simplecraft 1.16 Texture Pack for Minecraft?:

✔ Wonderfully simple texture designs brighten up the game’s visuals

✔ Very faithful to vanilla Minecraft’s aesthetic

✔ Simple textures keep game running smoothly and consistently

What’s not great about Simplecraft 1.16 Texture Pack for Minecraft?:

X Fans of high-resolution textures won’t find much appealing

X Some textures are much simpler than others

X Colour palette is somewhat limited in simplified textures

How to install Simplecraft 1.16 Texture Pack for Minecraft

Did my description of Simplecraft pique your preference for a simple life? Well, you’re in the right paragraph! You see, down below I’ve included my obligatory installation guide for Minecraft. In the guide, you’ll see the steps you need to take to install pretty much any resource pack. Use the knowledge wisely!

Download Simplecraft 1.16 and keep the zip file somewhere you can access it again later. Once that’s done, you need to make your way to Minecraft’s game files and open the folder named ‘resource packs’. This can be done easily by going to the game’s options menu and selecting ‘resource packs’ and then clicking on ‘open resource packs’. You can also find the folder in one of the following directories:

OS Location
Windows %APPDATA%\.minecraft
macOS ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux ~/.minecraft

To finish, place the zip file into the resource pack folder. When that’s done, make sure to activate the pack in the in-game Minecraft resource pack menu.
