Rodrigo’s Pack 1.16 8×8 FPS Boost Texture Pack is a resource pack for the latest update for Minecraft: the Nether Update! Rodrigo’s pack is well-known for its charming simplicity and now we all get to enjoy that quirky texture design combined with all of the exciting new Nether content. Keep reading to find out more!
What is Rodrigo’s Pack 1.16 8×8 FPS Boost Texture Pack?
To those of you who don’t know, Rodrigo’s pack is a beautiful 8×8 resource pack. And no, you didn’t read that incorrectly, I did in fact write 8×8. There aren’t too many 8×8 resource packs floating around, but Rodrigo’s entry still manages to stand out as a unique entry. While most resource packs use the default 16×16 resolution or actively seek to increase that number, this pack is actually satisfied with lowering the resolution, and to great results too.
Is Rodrigo’s Pack 1.16 8×8 FPS Boost Texture Pack a good pack to install?
Yep! This pack is one of my favourites to play Minecraft with and I’m so glad that it’s now available to play with all the new Nether items, mobs and other content. Many players might think what use is a 8×8 pack if they can run Minecraft at an ungodly framerate, but packs that utilise such a small canvas space often have some of the most beautiful Minecraft textures on offer.
The tiny resolution space (even lower than Minecraft’s default!) is used here both as a stylistic choice and as a way to increase frames per second. If you’re on a less than great computer setup, this pack is a quick way to boost your game performance by a significant margin.
If you like the pixel art indie game look, you’ll feel right at home with Rodrigo’s pack installed. It’s gorgeously composed and the colour palette will brighten your day, even when you’re in the darkest of caves.
One downside is that the new Nether parts of the game are still being worked on when it comes to this pack, so there are still a couple of rough edges that need to be ironed out in future pack releases.
People who like packs with edgy art styles or giant texture resolutions probably won’t find much to enjoy in this pack, but those looking for a fantastic looking pack that offers practical benefits as well as visual joy, then you can’t really go wrong with Rodrigo! You won’t only be given a much-appreciated nice boost in FPS and general game performance, you will also be treated to one of the best-looking packs out there.
