LunarCraft 1.15 is a resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 that makes improvements, tweaks and changes to the classic Minecraft we all know and love. Despite the name, I didn’t find any moon-related content in this pack, yet there’s plenty of incredibly faithful improvements to experience everywhere. What is LunarCraft 1.15?
LunarCraft 1.15 is resource pack all about changes. Not the most drastic changes, mind you, but general quality of life changes and aesthetic changes that make the game’s overall experience more enjoyable. Although the name might suggest a far out sci-fi fantasy adventure, what we get instead is a much more tasteful and sensible endeavour.
What is LunarCraft 1.15 like to play with?
LunarCraft 1.15 is for me what a lot more resource packs should strive to be like. I can’t help but fall in love with packs that take Minecraft’s original style and make sensible steps to improve upon it, something about Minecraft’s artstyle makes me feel it should be preserved in some way. Luckily, LunarCraft 1.15 has managed to do just that without sacrificing its own artistic vision.
The pack is mostly made up of changes to the original Minecraft formula that range from tiny to substantial. The creator makes heavy use of OptiFine’s connected texture feature to produce more natural looking scenes and constructions. Rather than be restricted to Minecraft’s blocky design, dirt now spills over to nearby blocks, and leaf blocks now stretch outward in a realistic fashion.
With packs like these, there’s very little to really complain about. Just like a certain brand of yeast extract food spread, you either love them or hate them. Either you’re someone who wants Minecraft to be a HD steampunk adventure, or you’d just like roses to be a different shade of red. Players who need fully transformative Minecraft experiences when installing a new resource pack probably won’t find much of an adrenaline rush with LunarCraft 1.15. Though, it can make the perfect go-to pack for vanilla play for players of all kinds. The simplistic design but great execution makes it a great choice for improving vanilla Minecraft play, leaving thrill-seekers satisfied while keeping die-hard vanilla players happy as well.
