This resource pack is a classic sort of PVP pack that gives you new textures for PVP-related blocks, items, armour and tools. Offering players an advantage over their adversaries, this pack makes a fantastic option if you’re looking for something that is both practical and pretty.

Is Hype FPS Boost PvP Texture Pack 1.8.9 / 1.8 fun to play with?

It certainly is. If you are familiar with the genre of PVP packs, you won’t be surprised by the content on offer from this pack. But that doesn’t mean this pack doesn’t leave a big impact. In fact, this pack is so uniquely designed that it manages to stand above many other PVP packs and climbs to the top of the heap when it comes to PVP resource packs.

The biggest changes with this pack can be seen in the game’s PVP items and the rest of the world. This pack aims to increase your FPS by making the world around you simpler in design. The texture designs and texture resolution is specifically chosen to help ‘boost’ (note the title) your game’s performance. 

Conversely, the pack also tailors and dedicates its effort towards the PVP items that you’re going to be using the most. This means the game’s swords are much higher resolution than the rest of the pack, giving them a huge amount of detail in comparison. These swords are menacing in their appearance, and look as cool as you would hope them to.

This contrast between the different texture resolutions is a bit jarring in my opinion. Although I appreciate that this visual distribution is done to achieve better performance and a streamlining for PVP play, the aesthetic aspect is a bit clumsy looking.

Simply put, this is a fabulous resource pack that is tailored for heavy PVP use. Cutting out the stuff that doesn’t matter, this pack excels at offering PVP players an advantageous setup for seeing past the noise and focusing on what really matters—PVP!

How to install Hype FPS Boost PvP Texture Pack 1.8.9 / 1.8:

If you’re new to resource packs or can’t remember the installation process, you’re reading the right paragraph. Just down below I’ve included my short and sweet resource pack tutorial that will show you how to install Hype FPS and pretty much every other resource pack out there.

To start, download the available zip file for Hype. Although this is a zip, you don’t need a file extractor program for this installation. Once it has downloaded, make your way to Minecraft’s game files and open the folder titled ‘resourcepacks’. One of the simplest ways to do this is by going to Minecraft’s resource pack menu and clicking on the tab named ‘open resource pack folder’. Alternatively, find the resource pack folder in one of the following file directories:

Once you have the folder open, take and move the Hype zip into it. To play with the pack, navigate to Minecraft’s resource pack menu again and enable the pack as active.
