Hello Neighbor – Minecraft Horror Map is filled with jump scares and frightening moments. It is the perfect Minecraft map for somebody that wants a bit of an adrenaline rush. There is a tiny bit of story, but you are mostly just thrown into the fun.
Whilst some people may like lengthy stories, sometimes it is nice to just have a fun map to play that doesn’t have too much backstory. This is what Hello Neighbor. Let’s take a closer look at this Minecraft horror map and give some reasons why you may or may not like it. Hello Neighbor – Minecraft Horror Map can be downloaded and played quickly without any extra steps. You don’t need to go through much set up and you don’t need to download and turn on a texture pack. Playing Hello Neighbor is as easy as putting the world in your saves folder and jumping straight in.
Once you first start the map, you’ll need to explore the area. If he catches you, you will die and you’ll have to start the map again. You must explore and find a way to defeat your neighbor. There are a bunch of jump scares thrown in as you explore this world and your creepy neighbor could be waiting around any corner ready to jump out at you.
There is a counter on the left of the screen that keeps track of your deaths. That way you can challenge yourself to see how few deaths you can complete the map in. You could even challenge your friends to see if they can beat your best score. This level of replayability is something you rarely see in these types of Minecraft horror maps.
You’ll need to all of the exploration yourself, too. The game doesn’t hold your hand too much. So you’ll need to find out which item can be used to defeat your neighbor and whilst you do get a narration to help guide your way, most of it is up to you. For many people, this free-flowing adventure will be great fun.
Unfortunately, Hello Neighbor isn’t perfect. Some areas seem a little bugged. You can glitch it and defeat your neighbor without the right item, but the map creator makes it very clear that this is, in fact, cheating. It’s a lot more fun to play it properly, so make sure you tell your friends before you try to get the fewest deaths. Some areas are a bit bugged, too. Some walls and doors seem to not open properly, and if you sleep, the game seems to come into a few problems with your neighbor not appearing.
There are also quite a few invisible walls so sometimes the lack of direction from the narrative text can actually make it more frustrating than enjoyable. If you like exploration and adventure maps, though, this shouldn’t be a problem.
