Here I am again covering yet another 8×8 resolution pack. You make think covering so many of these packs is criminal, but the only crime I’m guilty of is loving pixel art, low-resolution packs that totally kick butt! Make sure you don’t pass on this one by reading this review to see exactly how Rodrigos 8x 1.16 will make your Minecraft look great, and give you an FPS boost too.

What is FPS Boosting Rodrigos 8x 1.16 Texture Pack?

Since you’re here, you probably know what you’re after. But if you happen to be new to Minecraf resource packs, let me enlighten you. This pack by the authorial Rodrigo is a super small, 8×8 resource pack that cuts the game’s texture resolution by half. Why would you want that? Well, half of the pixels means half of the computer power needed to load the game’s many textures, ultimately giving you a boost to your total frames per second count.

Yep, yes, and yeah! I love the way Rodrigos 8x makes Minecraft look. I’ll be the first to admit that I have a bit of a bias when it comes to pixel art, low resolution, or just resource packs that make heavy use of a stripped-back approach. But still, this pack does not throw any punches. It makes beautiful use of the game’s square-based construction and really highlights Minecraft’s innate charm through fluent pixel art design.

While some packs don’t leave much of a visible impact, it’s hard to go a single second without experiencing the Minecraft world under a totally new light with Rodrigo’s pack installed.

What’s great about this pack is how ubiquitous the pack’s effects are on the entire world of Minecraft. All of your favorite blocks, as well as all of the ones that you’ll bump into the most, have been given a fresh, new makeover by Rodrigo.

Grass blocks have a beautifully distinct green hue, and many other parts of the world’s natural geography have been given a soft, pastel palette which really helps to solidify the pack’s lovely and wholesome charm.

The pack in general just has a very adventurous feel that compliments Minecraft’s adventurous spirit tremendously. In my personal playthrough, I discovered an underwater temple and was really blown away by the sense of wonder when experiencing that moment.

Ultimately, this pack receives a high recommendation from me. Unless you’re really against low-resolution packs, you owe it to yourself to check out this incredibly well-made resource pack that will wow your sense and give you an FPS boost at the same time.
