F8thful 1.16 - Faithful 8x - Minecraft Texture Pack is a resource pack that is a little different to your average pack. That's right! You keen eyed readers out there will already know that this pack is actually a 8x8 resolution pack. Looking for less detail in your Minecraft textures? Read on!
What is F8thful 1.16 - Faithful 8x - Minecraft Texture Pack?
F8thful 1.16 - Faithful 8x - Minecraft Texture Pack is a resource pack that doesn’t aim to upgrade Minecraft’s textures to unimaginable heights. Instead, its focus is to lower the texture resolution to a staggering 8x8, half of the usual Minecraft texture resolution!
I know you’re probably self-isolating right now, so that means there’s plenty of time to enjoy playing Minecraft, and an equal amount of time to spend playing the plentiful amount of resource packs that are available online. What could be better than helping alleviate the quarantine boredom by playing with F8thful 1.16? With its beautifully simple art style, you’ll be completely won over!
Is F8thful 1.16 fun to play with?
I absolutely love F8thful 1.16. It’s a gorgeous little pack (emphasis on little!), with a ton of character and charm.
So, many people (some of you readers included) love to upgrade your version of Minecraft through installing high resolution resource packs. The easy installation of these kinds of packs makes adding more visual detail a very simple endeavour.
What you don’t see too often however is packs that actually reduce the game’s texture resolution to lower than that 16x16 standard. The 8x8 genre of packs is a small but strong group of creative projects, and these kinds of packs have a surprising amount of quality.
The pack has a very indie game vibe, and each and every block is meticulously designed to really maximise on the small amount of space provided by the 8x8 texture resolution. This includes recent 1.15 content such as bees, honey and beehives.
Unfortunately, even though this pack is for the 1.16 snapshot, F8thful doesn’t have any textures for the new 1.16 content such as the new netherite items and armour.
If you love minimalism, simplicity or just plain old, good fashioned, well made textures, then F8thful is a must try for your next Minecraft session. On the surface it is basic in a very accessible way, but the more time you spend with this great pack will only give you more appreciation to the depth of its quality. An all around great pack that manages to subvert all expectations. It’ll certainly be entering my resource pack library for the foreseeable future!
What’s good about this pack?
✔ Beautifully minimalist pixel art textures for vanilla Minecraft
✔ Excellent texture design and composition
✔ Very aesthetically pleasing colour palette
What’s not-so-good about this pack?
X Can’t recommend to players who like high resolution packs
X Doesn’t have textures for the new 1.16 content
X Limited resolution size means that there’s less image detail
