Dark Souls – RPG Modded Adventure is a near perfect recreation of the classic video game Dark Souls. Except, as you might’ve guessed, it’s 100% in Minecraft! Even if you haven’t played the original game, this modded Minecraft experience has content for everyone with its expansive and beautiful builds.

What is the Dark Souls – RPG Modded Adventure – Minecraft Dungeon like to play?

You’re dropped into this map almost exactly the same way you are in the original Dark Souls. Although you might not start tied up in chains in your eternal prison cell, you still start your journey right in the heart of the Undead Asylum.

As an officially mandated undead, it is your job to make the arduous and daunting journey to Lordran’s capital Anor Londo. Along the way you’ll travel through giant landscapes and structures that really make you feel like a lost soul wandering across a world much more important than yourself.

As a Dark Souls fanatic, this map was a joy to stroll through. The dedication to even the tiniest details are present and provides you with a very rewarding experience for going the extra mile just to see if the creator put in your favourite secret.

It’s also very entertaining to see how the world of Lordran translates into Minecraft’s blocky style. Thankfully though, you won’t be disappointed with how the world is built. The design and architecture is beautiful and does a great service to that of its inspiration.

If you’ve never played Dark Souls, don’t fret as there’s plenty still to enjoy here. With the pack’s clever use of mods and Minecraft command functions the map feels almost like a fully-fledged game. However, like the original game, this map also has its fair share of niggles that you’ve got to take into account before.

Firstly, you need to install a modpack to get this map working. This isn’t a massive con in of itself, but it’s something to consider. Additionally, the most glaring downside of the map is the fact it isn’t fully finished. Many areas of Dark Souls are represented here, but unfortunately the pathways that were so iconic in the game aren’t all accounted for, so if you’d like to explore the map fully, you’ll need to activate creative mode.

If you’ve ever wanted to dip your toes into the ocean that is Dark Souls, then this is the closest thing you can get to the real thing! With excellent attention to detail and quality building ability, this map is a fantastic romp either alone or with friends on a server for some jolly cooperation.

Firstly, download the map.This will come as a zip file. Using a file extractor such as Winrar, export the contents of the zip file to a place of your choice. Now move the exported folder to your Minecraft saves folder, which you can find through one of the following directories:
