Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15 is a resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 that is very focused, meaning that it knows what it wants to do and it delivers on it. To be specific, this pack aims to take the default vanilla Minecraft swords and upgrade them into something a bit more special. Blasphemous! I hear the faithful players among you say. But this pack has enough going for it to appeal to a wide pool of players, no matter the playstyle. Keep reading to see if this sword-centric pack is eponyms crude or eponymously refined.

What is Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15?

Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15 is a simple resource pack that changes the textures of the vanilla Minecraft swords with faithful yet much more interesting texture designs. It manages to inject something new into the game whilst maintaining to be very faithful to the game’s original art style, allowing it to appeal to faithful and less-than-faithful players.

Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15 is a great resource pack to have installed as a sort of flavour enhancer. By that I mean that the pack doesn’t really leave a tremendous amount of impact solely on its own, but it adds just a little layer of its own style to make the whole game experience just a bit more interesting. Specifically, I think the pack would be right at home as part of a bigger experience overhaul resource pack, but it totally warrants a download on its own.

Ok, now let’s discuss the actual textures, shall we? The textures for the new weapons are awesome. They’re somehow simple yet manage to evoke so much more detail than their vanilla counterparts. Safe to say, if you swear by the game’s default textures, you won’t be disappointed. Likewise, if you can’t help but get away from the game’s vanilla textures, there’s enough new detail here to keep you interested. The swords now have extra details such as hilts, tangles of rope, and more that I don’t want to spoil, so make sure to check out the pack yourself.

The only downside to this pack is in-part the fact it is so simple. I couldn’t recommend this as the only resource pack you have downloaded at any given time, and it’s best experienced with other packs installed simultaneously. Hopefully some creators will see this pack and include it in larger projects, which is where I think the pack will really shine. It’s also a slight shame that the pack doesn’t affect non-sword weapons such as the bow, but hopefully with future updates we’ll see those changes introduced.

What are the pros of Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15?

✔Faithful to Minecraft’s default textures

✔Doesn’t affect game’s performance

What are the cons of Crude to Refined Weapons 1.15?

X Would be better included as a part of a larger pack

X Doesn’t change all the game’s weapons, such as the bow

X Best experience stacked with other resource packs
