Cheyrons Better Default 1.15 is a semi-vanilla resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 that introduces tweaks, changes and alterations to the classic Minecraft experience we all know. Highly personalised and strictly faithful, this pack is a fantastic option for players who enjoy the quirks of vanilla Minecraft but appreciate that the game could see a few improvements. Keep reading to find out what makes this resource pack better than default in my rundown and review. Let’s get to it then!

What is Cheyrons Better Default 1.15?

As the name bluntly suggests, this pack’s aim is to make improvements (see:better) to default Minecraft. We all love the game in its vanilla form, but sometimes you can’t help but think how certain aspects could be better or improved upon. Enter Cheyrons Better Default 1.15! Now thanks to this pack, particularly troublesome aspects of the game’s visuals will be a thing of the past, and you won’t need to sacrifice any other parts of the game’s default style

Cheyrons Better Default 1.15 is, by its nature, a very personal pack. You always know when the creator’s name sits in the title of the pack that the project comes from a place of love. These are the packs that I enjoy the most, honestly. And I’m happy to report that Cheyrons Better Default 1.15 is a great addition to the history of semi-vanilla packs, albeit with a handful of caveats.

Some of the changes seen in this pack I can’t help but love. Most are only minor changes and tweaks, but leave enough of an impression that their overall impact is much different to that of the base game. The custom skybox was a significant surprise for me as well. Skyboxes aren’t usually my cup of tea in all honesty, as many creators like to use them bombastically to show off flashy screenshots with brightly illuminated skylines. Here in Cheyrons Better Default 1.15 however, the result is much more tasteful. Although the skybox is much more complexly styled when compared to Minecraft’s very basic version, it still manages to restrain itself enough to prevent it from being distracting.

With all that said, if you’re looking for a semi-vanilla pack with a lot of quality, Cheyrons Better Default 1.15 is a fantastic choice. Chocked full of little details that streamline the entire Minecraft experience for the better. Not recommended for the bombastic players out there, but always an excellent choice for those who love a bit of faithful vanilla Minecraft with added improvements!
