CaramelCraft 1.15 is a semi-vanilla resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 that aims to make everything about Minecraft’s visuals as smooth and delicious as a spoonful of fresh caramel. Need your version of Minecraft to look better, smoother and more pleasant overall? Well listen up, because this might be the pack for you. But does the pack work in practice? Or is everything just a bit too sweet? Find out in my review of CaramelCraft for Minecraft 1.1.5
What is CaramelCraft 1.15?
Other than having a name that makes me hungry for some sweet treats, CaramelCraft 1.15 is a pack that is packed full of sweet and wonderful Minecraft visuals. Perhaps one of the most lighthearted and wholesome packs I’ve tried out in recent history, CaramelCraft 1.15 is sure to win the heart of even the grouchiest of Minecraft players.
What is CaramelCraft 1.15 like to play with?
Like other packs I have covered recently, CaramelCraft 1.15 is a pack that isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s more about upgrading the wheel; giving a shiny new coat, a new tire, some tweaks here and there. But don’t ever mistake these ‘simple’ packs for having any kind of simplicity in their design, as these packs—in this case, CaramelCraft—often times have some of the best visuals around.
CaramelCraft 1.15 was a joy to play in the short time I spent with it for this review. The pack is simple in its approach, but joyous in its execution. From the smallest detail to the largest new addition, this pack is fantastic for providing a semi-vanilla experience that will keep you entertained throughout your entire gametime. The pack’s colour pallete is bright and well-balanced, drawing in a much more lighthearted mood compared to the base game. Likewise, the addition of cherry blossoms (previously birch trees) add a great amount of wonder that make the game feel so much more positive and enjoyable to play through. There’s also a fair amount of smaller details such as new weather and particle effects that will keep you discovering new and exciting textures even hours into your next playthrough.
As usual with these kinds of packs, there aren’t any major drawbacks to having this sweet little resource pack installed. If you find yourself choosing packs with more grimdark or moody art styles, then CaramelCraft 1.15 might not be your first choice. However, if you enjoy a peaceful, well-made and most of all high quality set of textures for your Minecraft sessions, you really can’t go wrong with something as visually delicious as CaramelCraft 1.15. Yum!
What are the pros of CaramelCraft 1.15?
✔Beautiful new textures and colour pallete
✔Remains steadily faithful to vanilla Minecraft
✔Sensible and tasteful changes to base game
What are the cons of CaramelCraft 1.15?
X Some won’t enjoy its 16x16 resolution
X Not recommended for players after large texture overhauls
X Not suited for those who like edgier art styles
