What is Advanced GUI 1.15.1?
Advanced GUI 1.15.1 is a pack that is focused on changing the game’s graphical user interface (GUI). GUI fixes don’t sound like the most interesting changes on paper, but there’s no denying how a GUI makeover can totally revolutionise how we interact with video games and process the information presented by them. Minecraft is no different, and it’s about time that the game had a total GUI overhaul.
What is Advanced GUI 1.15.1 like to play with?
Advanced GUI 1.15.1 was a fantastic pack to spend a short time playing with. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the changes made by the pack and how it sought to improve the game’s GUI significantly.
As of this review and rundown, Advanced GUI 1.15.1 doesn’t offer a total GUI overhaul that affects all parts of the game. Currently, there’s only a few sections of the game’s GUI that have been changed by Advanced GUI 1.15.1, but that’s by no means a comment on the pack’s overall quality.
The pack changes the GUI for both chests and barrels, which now have a custom chest-themed design to distinguish between a container’s inventory and the player’s inventory. It would’ve been nice to see some variation for the inventories for barrels, but it’s cool to see something different regardless. The biggest changes the pack offers can be seen in the game’s recipe book. The design for the recipe book is now a lot more visually interesting and allows for much easier use by players, as your eyes can distinguish between different areas of the recipe book thanks to the balanced colour palette.
It’s not the most overwhelmingly complex GUI overhaul, but it is a pack that definitely improves the look and feel of some of Minecraft’s GUI. If you’re tired of Minecraft’s years old graphical user interface and want something fresh and new, Advanced GUI 1.15.1 is a great, simple and lightweight option to improve your Minecraft experience.
What are the pros of Advanced GUI 1.15.1?
✔ Improvements and additions to vanilla Minecraft GUI
✔ Innovative and useful design changes
✔ Simple pack construction leaves game running smoothly
What are the cons of Advanced GUI 1.15.1?
X GUI changes could be more apparent in all aspects of the game’s GUI
X Would be nice to see more distinct GUI assets between chests and barrels
X Some more changes beyond aesthetic would be appreciated
