Wait – Minecraft Horror Map Is Guaranteed To Make You Jump
Wait – Minecraft Horror Map is a very short map filled with puzzles that will get you scratching your brain and thinking out of the box. Wait also has a very good jump scare waiting for you at some point. We won’t spoil it but if you’re after a good jump scare we guarantee this map will get to you.
Take a read through our review of Wait below and then take a look below to see how you can download it and try it out for yourself. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the map despite it being quite short.
Wait – Minecraft Horror Map Review
You will first start in a waiting room, but it’s a little confusing what you have to do next. You must figure out the next step all on your own by interacting with the objects around you. After some exploration, you may notice that there is a code to enter a door, but you must look carefully at the other objects in the waiting room to try and crack the code.
As you explore, you’ll realize something isn’t quite right. The thing you’re waiting for is, well, a thing and you have no idea where or when to expect it. As you explore more, you’ll start to hear footsteps behind you and see signs telling you not to look ‘it’ in the eyes or not to leave your back vulnerable, but as you keep looking, you won’t figure out what it is you’re supposed to be looking out for.
Eventually, though, you’ll find out. We don’t want to spoil it but it’s safe to say that whatever happens in Wait is sure to make you jump. We have to give a lot of credit to the awesome sounds that the creator of this map has picked out. It starts with an eerie silence, with nothing but a clock ticking. This spooky atmosphere really leads up to the climactic moment with the jump scare later on.
Wait is a very short map but it’s well worth playing and once you’ve played it, you’ll definitely want to share with your friends and wait to see their reaction too. The puzzle moments can be a little confusing at times, unfortunately, but if you keep looking around you will eventually figure it out. Some moments are little tedious, too.
For example, at one point you have to flick through 100 pages in a book to figure out what to do next. It would have been easier if they just made it 10 pages instead. You could argue that this long wait adds more tension to the map, though. I also noticed that the map can break sometimes. When I first played it, I couldn’t teleport into the main area. If it breaks, it’s worth reinstalling it to try it again.
Pros
- Quick to play and share with your friends
- A unique approach to a horror Minecraft map
- Fun puzzle elements
Cons
- Harder to install than some maps
- Some parts are a little tedious
- Some areas seem a little bugged
How do I install Minecraft Horror Map
Download the map file and, using a file extractor, export the contents of the file to a location on your computer. When that’s finished, locate the directory where your Minecraft saves are kept. This will be different depending on the operating system of your computer. If you’re not sure where to look, use the table below:
OS | Location |
Windows | %APPDATA%\.minecraft |
macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft |
Linux | ~/.minecraft |
Just place the Spooner Street folder into your saves folder and just select the save from your Minecraft single player saves list.
The same process applies for multiplayer too, but the location of your saves folder is always different depending on what client or server software you use.
