Sky Block! How many hours have we all sunk into this simple yet challenging format of Minecraft survival maps. Spawning from the original spirit of the popular desert island survival, Sky Block makes things just a little bit harder by dangling the entire world a top of an endless abyss. The sky’s the limit with this one!

What is Sky Block 1.15.2?

Sky Block 1.15.2 is a survival custom map for Minecraft that allows you to play the classic Sky Block we all know and love in Minecraft 1.15.2. It’s been years now since the original Sky Block was first created, and not much has changed despite a few tweaks and alterations made to accomodate for the decade’s worth of updates Minecraft has thrown at us. Yet people are still coming back for more!

Is Sky Block 1.15.2 fun to play?

If you’ve never played Sky Block, it’s really as simple as it sounds. You or a team of buddies are tasked with surviving on a small island. The catch? That island is floating and it’s the only thing in existence! The rest of the world is simply just void, so you’ll need to be clever about your resources, farming and of course teamwork if you stand any chance at survival.

The fun comes from trying to work out how to survive with such a meagre amount of materials. A good knowledge of the tips and tricks of frugal Minecraft playing really comes in handy, but even less experienced players will be able to work out the map’s unique and challenging design.

It’s a very fulfilling playing style for a Minecraft map, as the endlessness of the void contrasts nicely against the progress you make on your base, allowing you to really enjoy expanding your setup and finding new and creative ways to survive in such a perilous world. It can be a fantastic option if you’ve find yourself to have grown tired of typical Minecraft survival worlds and really need something that will give you something totally new.

My only gripe with Sky Block 1.15.2 is that it unfortunately hasn’t changed very much over the years, and it would be nice to see something a bit new thrown into the mix. That said, this map is a true Minecraft classic and players new and old deserve to have a go at what will always be an incredibly memorable Minecraft survival experience. Check it out!

How to install Sky Block 1.15.2

Installing Minecraft maps is easy thanks to Mojang’s support in helping custom content flourish. Though, if you’ve never installed a Minecraft map before, you might have no idea where to start. That’s where I come in. I’ve put together a simple guide on map installation for Minecraft 1.15.2 and beyond that will have you ready and playing in just a few minutes. Check it out below!

First, download the zip file for Sky Block 1.15.2. Once it’s downloaded, put it aside somewhere you can grab it again later. Now you need to locate your Minecraft game files. Use the following table to see which file directory you need depending on your computer’s operating system. Open the folder named ‘saves’ and place the zip download inside of it.

To open your world, simply go to the Minecraft single player menu and select Sky Block 1.15.2 from the world select screen.
