A Night With Billy – Minecraft Horror Map Review

When you first start this map, you must find your way into Billy’s Diner. It’s closed, so you must look around for another entrance. Once you get inside, you realise that it has been closed down for some time and it’s in a state of disrepair. You are given plenty of tasks to get it up and running again. With this approach, you have an easy list of objectives to complete one by one, so it’s very easy to follow along with the story.

However, as you start to get the diner back into working order, you will notice that something isn’t quite right. There is a problem with Billy’s Diner. It’s haunted. After countless jump scares, you’ll have to find your way to freeing the place from its haunted spirits. By the time you have finished it, you’ll have your diner back up and running again.

But can you do it without getting scared to death by the jump scares? For many players, the jump scares will definitely get your attention. The story is light, but there’s definitely a very easy to follow narrative, which is great.

Some stories do drag out objectives or the story, but A Night With Billy is very straight to the point, which limits the game length, but makes sure you’re always having fun. A Night With Billy isn’t perfect, though. I have noticed there are a couple of glitches where the map doesn’t work and you have to restart the world from scratch. The teleport mechanics when you move to different areas seem to bug out and I’m not sure why. Sometimes they do work but take a long time to kick in. 

I did find that once you get into the diner the teleport problems seem to sort themselves out. There are some invisible walls and the map design is a little confusing at items. I did get lost a few times and it took me a few minutes to find the right way each time. Besides those problems, though, A Night With Billy is a lot of fun with some great adventure elements and a unique story that’s quick to get involved with.
