What is Monsterley 1.15?
Monsterley 1.15 is a resource pack that makes a lot of changes to the base game. If you’re after something with little impact, you won’t find it here. There’s new additions galore in this pack, for better and for worse. Not only that, the pack also has a super high resolution for you resolution fanatics, so there’s a lot to unpack.
What is Monsterley 1.15 like to play with?
Monsterley 1.15 is an odd pack filled with some great highs and some dwindling lows. There’s a lot to be said about this pack and its various minutiae and how this pack could be a love-it-or-hate-it sort of situation.
Let’s start with the good. Monsterley 1.15 does a fantastic job with its practical onslaught of new textures and models added into the game. Utilities such as crafting benches, furnaces and other useful blocks all look amazing here, as the pack adds new detail in the form of new 3D objects and textures, making the whole experience much more immersive. Likewise, for the most part, blocks look good as they’ve been given higher resolutions and updated textures. Most textures don’t stray too far away from their vanilla originators, but the tasteful amount of new detail makes them much more interesting to look at. My personal favourite was the selection of tree textures, which all look fantastic.
In an ironic twist of fate, despite the pack being named ‘Monsterley 1.15’, the pack’s selection of mobs and other NPCs are something to be desired. They are easily the worst part of this pack, which is a massive let down. I can see what the creator was going for with most of the mob designs, but all we are left with is a busy and almost blurry mess of textures that are trying too hard to be something they clearly are not.
Monsterley 1.15 is definitely a pack that is going to one that you love or hate. There’s enough positives and downsides that you could really end up either way. Though, don’t just take my word for it. Go download Monsterley 1.15 yourself and see what all the fuss is about. Who knows, you might just find you new best friend, or at least your new worst enemy.
