Developer Art+ 1.15.2 is a resource pack for Minecraft 1.15.2 that doesn’t look forwards in its design, but backwards! This pack is to preserve and to carry on the style and aesthetic of Minecraft’s pre-1.13 textures into the future. If you felt dismayed after the switch of Mojang texture artists, then this is the resource pack for you! Read on to find all about this preservation minded pack.
What is Developer Art+ 1.15.2?
Developer Art+ 1.15.2 is a unique pack, which is hard to say these days with so many packs around! Instead of adding more things onto the piles of PVP and medieval fantasy packs, Developer Art+ 1.15.2 focuses itself on preserving a specific point in time of Minecraft’s visual history. This is a great pack for players who are into the history of Minecraft, and those who just prefer pre-1.13 textures.
Is Developer Art+ 1.15.2 fun to play with?
Although I’m not the most opinionated when it comes to Minecraft’s vanilla textures, I really enjoyed my short amount of time playing with Developer Art+ 1.15.2 installed. It was a great feeling knowing that someone was going to the time and effort to preserve and maintain this unique point in Minecraft’s history.
As some of you may know, Mojang hired a new texture artist around the release of 1.13, resulting in a new style of texture design being introduced into the game. Some (not unexpectedly) were upset with this development, as they had grown to love and cherish the style of textures synonymous with Minecraft’s most popular period. And so, Developer Art+ 1.15.2 was born!
This pack’s style is far from classic, so it’s not a totally revolutionary art style change, and less keen-eyed players won’t be able to tell much of a difference between these visuals and current Minecraft. However, after a quick back and forth, you’ll be able to see the contrasts between the two stages of Minecraft’s visuals. The textures themselves, being derivatives of Minecraft’s actual textures, are great and look perfect in-game.
So that’s all there is to it honestly! If you’re a fan of more old school Minecraft textures, you’ll be sure to get a kick out of this pack. It’s a great time capsule and will help to complete the history of Minecraft’s visuals for years to come.
