Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX is a resource pack for Minecraft 1.15 for all of you motorheads out there. Itching to put the pedal to the metal in the blocky world of Minecraft? Then now’s your chance! Transform your boring car-less Minecraft cities into fuel guzzling cartopias with bustling and busy streets. The pack even allows you to place down roads for full immersion too! Let’s just hope nobody crashes.
What is Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX?
Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX is a deceptively simple and ingenious little resource pack. Essentially, the pack replaces Minecarts with new textures that look more like traditional cars—brake lights and all. What’s more is that the pack also replaces the Minecart rail textures so that they look like classic black and white tarmac roads.
What is Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX like to play with?
As far as little detail packs go, Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX is very enjoyable. I’m not a huge fan of cars or automated vehicles in Minecraft, but I couldn’t help but appreciate the clever design of the pack and the use of content that already exists.
Since minecarts were introduced years ago, people have been wanting more and more robust options for transportation in Minecraft. Safe to say though, we aren’t going to be seeing any official car updates any time soon. But in the meantime, for those who love to take a quick drive, Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX is probably the next best thing.
By retexturing minecarts and minecart rails, 50ScaleX makes and believable and effective transition to fuel-powered combustion engines. What really sells these new automobiles is the sound effects. I always love when creators take the time to add sound effects in their resource pack, and its often an aspect of resource pack creation that goes under appreciated. Cars rumble as they idle just like in real life and ‘driving’ around in your new ride feels satisfying as you the engine revs loudly.
The only real downside to this pack is that due to it being a resource pack, there’s no real way to make it operate like an actual car—that job has to be left for mods. So players who want a truly authentic car experience in Minecraft should probably check out some dedicated car or vehicle mods, but if you’re after a fun and simple car emulation in the base game, or you need some more modern details in your adventure map or server, Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX is a great choice.
What is good about Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX?
✔Great use of pre-existing Minecraft content
✔Simple pack that won’t affect other installed resource packs
✔Great for modern city maps or servers
What is not-so-good about Car Pack 1.15 by 50ScaleX?
X No functional changes to Minecarts—only achievable through mods
X No variation in how the cars look
X Fans of cars might be better off looking for a dedicated vehicle mod
